I made this film as my BFA1 film project at CalArts. I chose the movie’s theme and story based not only on my passion for astronomy, coming from a country internationally known for the Paranal Observatory at the Atacama Desert, but on my own experience as an international student trying to “reach the stars” in both the Californian animation industry and the school I admire so much, CalArts.

“Ori”, the small star that we follow throughout the film teaches us that is not always the path that everyone takes the one that allows us to be the brightest version of ourselves. The film attempts to generate in its audience a feeling of hope and wonder by using a mix of 2D and 3D animation, accompanied by an orchestral score.
